The market has opended sharply lower

The market has opended sharply lower. The Sensex is down 940.07 points or 3.5 percent at 26062.15, and the Nifty down 287.70 points or 3.5 percent at 7982.75. About 57 shares have advanced, 1065 shares declined, and 18 shares are unchanged.

Tata Motors is down 10 percent. Tata Steel is down 8 percent, ICICI Bank, Maruti and Adani Ports are major losers.  BBC has projected 'leave' win in UK referendum. FTSE futures crashed 7.5 percent to 5813. "The UK's EU referendum is proving close but the Remain campaign appears to be failing to pick up enough support outside London to win."

The Indian rupee declined in the opening trade on Friday ahead of UK vote results. Devesh Divya, Asia FX Strategist at Standard Chartered Bank said, "Brexit will see a massive risk-off event for global markets, dollar/rupee will move sharply higher, which may see Central Bank's intervention but if its Bremain, we may see pullback on dollar/rupee."

Get Top Calls even Market is Down

The Sensex is down 3.27 points at 26762.38, and the Nifty down 3.85 points at 8199.85. About 415 shares have advanced, 271 shares declined, and 32 shares are unchanged.

Tata Motors, Lupin, Dr Reddy's Labs, Coal India and Sun Pharma are top gainers while NTPC, ONGC, HDFC Bank, Tata Steel and TCS are losers in the Sensex.

The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 67.43 per dollar on Thursday versus previous close 67.48.

The market has opened flat

The market has opened flat ahead of crucial Brexit vote. The Sensex is down 0.55 points at 26812.23, and the Nifty is down 2.05 points  at 8217.85. About 486 shares have advanced, 203 shares declined, and 36 shares are unchanged.

Dr Reddy's Labs, BHEL, Sun Pharma, Hero MotoCorp and ICICI Bank are top gainers while HUL, ITC, Maruti, HDFC and Tata Motors are losers in the Sensex.

The Indian rupee declined in the early trade on Wednesday. It has opened lower by 10 paise at 67.59 per dollar against previous close of 67.49.

The dollar edged after news that a new poll on Britain's referendum on european union membership showed growing support for the leave camp, pushing down the euro and sterling. Meanwhile the euro dropped the most in a week after European Central Bank President Mario Draghi reiterated his willingness to act to bolster inflation.

The market has opened flat ahead of crucial Brexit vote. The Sensex is down 0.55 points at 26812.23, and the Nifty is down 2.05 points  at 8217.85. About 486 shares have advanced, 203 shares declined, and 36 shares are unchanged.

Dr Reddy's Labs, BHEL, Sun Pharma, Hero MotoCorp and ICICI Bank are top gainers while HUL, ITC, Maruti, HDFC and Tata Motors are losers in the Sensex.

The Indian rupee declined in the early trade on Wednesday. It has opened lower by 10 paise at 67.59 per dollar against previous close of 67.49.

The market has opened flat with the Nifty still holding the 8250. The 50-share index is up 18.10 points or 0.2 percent at 8256.60. The Sensex is up 5.46 points or at 26872.38. About 345 shares have advanced, 92 shares declined, and 31 shares are unchanged.

GAIL, Lupin, ONGC, ICICI Bank amd M&M are top gainers while Bharti Airtel, SBI, ITC, Bajaj Auto and Axis Bank are down.

The market has opened lower on Monday

The market has opened lower on Monday amid speculation on who will replace Raghuram Rajan as the next Reserve Bank of India governor. Rajan will return to academia when his current term ends on September 4, he said in a message to central bank staff on Saturday.

The Sensex is down 159.76 points or 0.6 percent at 26466.15. The Nifty is down 54.45 points or 0.7 percent at 8115.75. About 94 shares have advanced, 221 shares declined, and 29 shares are unchanged.

GAIL, Bharti, Wipro, M&M and ITC are gainers in the Sensex while SBI, BHEL, ICICI Bank, HDFC and Adani Ports are major losers.

The Indian rupee slipped in the early trade on Monday. It has opened lower by 57 paise at 67.65 per dollar versus 67.08 Friday.

The market has opened lower | Top Calls

The market has opened lower dragged by weak global cues. The Sensex is down 162.69 points or 0.6 percent at 26563.65, and the Nifty down 51.40 points or 0.6 percent at 8155.20. About 410 shares have advanced, 454 shares declined, and 30 shares are unchanged. 

Lupin, M&M and NTPC are top gainers while ICICI Bank, Maruti, HDFC, SBI, Tata Motors and Wipro are losers in the Sensex.

The rupee opened marginally higher at 67.12 per dollar on Thursday versus previous close of 67.15. Dollar added to losses after the Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged, as was widely expected. The greenback trades near its weakest level since October 2014 versus Japan's currency.

The Sensex is up 131.18 points | Top Calls


The market has opened firm supported by banks, auto, infra and pharma stocks. The Sensex is up 131.18 points or 0.5 percent at 26526.89, and the Nifty up 38.35 points or 0.5 percent at 8147.20. About 624 shares have advanced, 138 shares declined, and 37 shares are unchanged.

Adani Ports, Bhari Airtel, SBI, NTPC and BHEL are top gainers while ICICI Bnak, Dr Reddy's and TCS are down in the Sensex.

The Indian rupee opened flat at 67.25 per dollar against previous close of 67.26.The yuan slipped to its weakest level since early February in offshore trading after MSCI Inc. denied local equities entry into their indexes. The pound was near a two-month low on Brexit concerns.

After severe cuts yesterday, the market has opened in green on Tuesday. The Sensex is up 64.66 points or 0.2 perceny at 26461.43, and the Nifty is up 21.95 points or 0.3 percent at 8132.55. About 342 shares have advanced, 111 shares declined, and 24 shares are unchanged.

Dragged by global cues the market has opened with severe cuts

Dragged by global cues the market has opened with severe cuts. The Nifty is down below 8100. The 50-share index is down 72.75 points or 0.9 percent at 8097.30 while the Sensex is down 246.12 points or 0.9 percent at 26389.63.

ICICI Bank, SBI, Tata Motors, BHEL and Tata Steel are losers while Dr Reddy's Labs and HDFC Bank are gainers in the Sensex.

The Indian rupee opened lower by 18 paise at 66.94 per dollar on Monday versus 66.76 Friday. Pramit Brahmbhatt of Veracity said, "Weak global cues will put pressure on the rupee and it is likely to touch 67/dollar levels."

"We expect the USD-INR pair to trade in a range of 66.50-67.20/USD today," he added.

The market has opened on a firm note with the Nifty

The market has opened on a firm note with the Nifty still above 8250. The 50-share index is up 19.05 points or 0.2 percent at 8285.50. The Sensex is up 91 points or 0.3 percent at 27100.67. About 305 shares have advanced, 114 shares declined, and 24 shares are unchanged.

Bharti Airtel, HDFC, L&T, Cipla and Adani Ports are gainers while GAIL, HUL, BHEL, Asian Paints and TCS are losers in the Sensex.

The Indian rupee opened flat at 66.78 per dollar against previous close of 66.77. The dollar fell to a one-month low on speculation that the Federal Reserve isn't going to raise rates any time soon.

The market has opened in green | Super Calls

The market has opened in green but the Nifty is still below 8250. The 50-share index is up 7.95 points or 0.1 percent at 8228.75 and the Sensex is up 42.55 points or 0.2 percent at 26885.58. About 345 shares have advanced, 147 shares declined, and 40 shares are unchanged. 

Lupin, GAIL, Cipla, Sun Pharma and M&M are top gainers while Adani Ports, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Steel, Asian Paints and Maruti are losers in the Sensex. 

The Indian rupee gained in early trade, opening higher by 30 paise at 66.95 per dollar versus 67.25 Friday. Dollar sees mild gains after posting its largest one-day percentage fall against a basket of major currencies since February on Friday, meanwhile the yen surges.

Market Extended Uptrend in Early Trade

The market extended uptrend in early trade Friday, tracking positive global cues. The Nifty reclaimed 8250 level for the first time since October 26, 2015, aided by banking & financials, auto and select technology stocks.

The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 134.09 points to 26977.23 and the 50-share NSE Nifty climbed 35.15 points to 8254.10.

Axis Bank surged 2.4 percent followed by Tech Mahindra, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Coal India and Tata Steel with more than 1 percent upside. However, Bharti Airtel plunged 2 percent.

The Indian rupee opened higher by 6 paise at 67.23 per dollar today against previous close of 67.29.

The market continued to be marginally lower

The market continued to be marginally lower with the Sensex falling 43.21 points to 26670.72 and the Nifty down 14.95 points at 8165. The broader markets were also lower as about 930 shares declined against 674 advancing shares on Bombay Stock Exchange.

Nitin Raheja, CIO, Rada Advisors, says it is difficult to take a call on which direction the market it going and so once again the focus should be back on bottom-up stock picking.

He thinks the Fed rate hike is already discounted but the commentary remains key, and if that is hawkish then markets may correct.

Infosys, Coal India and Tata Motors topped buying list on Sensex, up 1-2 percent while ITC, L&T, Bajaj Auto and GAIL fell 1 percent each.
